Calling all idiots and freaks from 2D!
To those that want to contribute to this dead excuse of a blog, and to keep the fun times of 2D in our memories, whoever that has pictures or anything 2D-related to submit, be it some pictures, videos, anything at all to submit to the blog! You can create your own stuff, submit pictures taken of the class, videos, whatever crap that you can think of to stick on this blog of doom.
We shall conveniently forget all the evil and bad times in 2D in a neccessary bout of extreme self denial, counselling and brainwashing, and the occasional roof to hop around like a complete retard until you drop down and go "WHEEEEE" and lets not talk about that anymore. Its that depressing.
Anyway, in related news, I'll be posting up pictures and videos of the chalet Isaac organized that some of us idiots went to. That is, after I accumulate all the chalet pictures/videos and stuff I can garner from everyone that went to the chalet and took pictures or anything.
Anyway, to contribute to anything mentioned above e-mail me at:
Arthas94@gmail.com
Boredom does this to people. :p

SANA
Tomorrow at 10am whoever that is NOT going for SANA course - those that went for the stupid Civil Defence course - please meet at the NCC Land Room in PT KIT for a short training and a survey. - Bring a pen or something.
The stuff above is probably only for Husain if I remember correctly.
For those who ARE going for SANA course - Clive, Adeeb, and me. Tze Yang claims he's in Penang and would only be back on Saturday so screw that. Tomorrow at 8am sharp report to Sengkang MRT station in full No.4 uniform and bring your berets. SANA would be held at Sengkang Community Center, #05-01.
Please remember to be early, and don't forget your bloody gutters. Though I doubt anyone coming from home would forget their gutters, but shit happens. I don't know if you have to bring your badges or not, so just bring them just in case I guess. Seriously doubt so though.
Time of dismissal is unsure, and we'll most likely be released from there. More information SHOULD be able to be obtained from the VS NCC Land forum.

And for those going for the SANA course please be reminded that its on bluddy 7 November. Another waste of time yes. Another thing to note would be 26 to 27 Nov - NCC Fitness Program. Last Day
Today was the last time we will all be together, as a class.
Time has passed by ever so slowly. But now it seems like it is passing ever too fast. Our paths have converged for two whole years. Yet it is time for us to part. We have to follow our own paths now onwards. Sure, some of us would stay in the same class, same friends. But then others would take different paths, go into different subject combinations, different classes.
I hope that all of us would have a nice and relaxing end of year holiday coming ahead of us. I also hope that most, if not all of us, will get into the subject combination of our choice, and are eligible for them. Next year we will all be in Secondary 3, donning long pants and burning – I mean disposing of – our khaki shorts. We will be more mature – hopefully – and most of us would be taking up CCA positions.
We will be making new friends, taking up new challenges, new homework, new exams, and new teachers – well mostly – but we also would be keeping in touch with old friends, be it in other classes or in the same class, hopefully.
In other related news, this class blog has been dead for so long, it is not even worth mentioning at all. Next year, the more we would not require this. Suggestion? We use this blog as an AEP blog for all of us AEP people next year, and possibly for Secondary 4 as well. We will also probably reuse this blog for any 2D events that might crop up during the next two years.
This blog shall be updated for any class events this year, and next year it will be converted to the AEP blog with 2D outing updates or whatnot.
Hope we all have a good time ahead, and get into the classes we desire.
Have a happy holidays.
Goodbye to all.
Hope to see you all again.
Next year. :D
PS: Don't forget your subject combination selection tomorrow, and that will end on the 31st of October 2008, 9am The system will be locked, no further changes will be entertained after this date.

Exams Over
Congratulations, fellow 2Dians. Your exams is over.
I am sure each of you individuals had done what you knew and is acknowledged of what you will deserve later. So, I shall not elaborate further.
I'd like to take this opportunity to thank every teacher that had led us through our misunderstandings and corrected our doubts and mistakes. It is entirely true that the job of the teacher is the most noble! Guiding the students to the right path. Only He will reward such gracious act!
Also to all my classmates who made this two years in VS the most memorable. In just a few weeks, we are heading to different classes, with different mindsets, with different opportunities and different capabilities. Hope every single one of you people still stay in contact no matter how far we are, including different schools. Remember that the two years in Khaki shorts is that which entitles you to two years in long pants in VS.
With that, I end here.

AEP Reminder
Monday is the AEP SA2 Drawing and Painting exam.
To all AEP people prepare all your sketches, your development, your ideas - your exploration of ideas. Also remember to do some research that might help with your sketches and stuff. You are allowed to use up to 5 pieces of A3 paper for you to do your sketches or whatever. Stick pictures, write notes, draw, sketch, paint. Whatever.
You can just use three pieces of A3 paper actually, just reuse the back page of each paper. I THINK you are allowed to do that. I did that for my SA1 I think. Not really sure about this, but who really cares much about that minor detail anyway? Not as if they are going to deduct off your marks for something as trivial as that...I hope. Lol.
0.o And to all General Art people, have a nice 5 day holiday break and go jump off the nearest tallest building next to you. Thank you and have a nice weekend! :D

Binale
An update.
Or whatever else you would call this.
AEP Singapore Binale Hopscotch Trail.
Despite the evil warnings of death and decay given by the Hopscotch trail form that we received, this is not an execution. We would be just going there at 2:00pm sharp meeting at the VS foyer area. Latecomers would be left behind, willingly or unwillingly. And Mr Tan would still keep for himself, I mean take your $10 plus from your Edusave, no matter what if you went or not for the tickets.
We would end the evil trail of death at 5:45 plus, and zee bus would take us back to Victoria School at 6 - 6:30pm plus. Bring along your sheets of white papyrus enclosed in a hard cover as well as a stick of graphite or a stick of ink to scratch important glyphs and symbols as well as drawings into your sheets of white papyrus enclosed in a hard cover.
Remember to bring molotov cocktails, I mean water bottles or drinks with you. Anything ranging from plastique bottles to metallic clubs with a lid. Oops, I meant plastic. We are leaving our holders of sheets of white papyrus in school and it is suggested to bring a smaller holder of sheets of white papyrus so that it can serve its constructed function to hold items.
For NCC idiots apart from Adeeb, tomorrow we will have to skip training. Foot drills and Arm drills would be revised before being tested. Don't ask me why they would be testing Arm drills - we barely learnt them at all. I doubt people like Clive or Tze Yang would even recognize Arm drills so...
Yeah.

Orienteering
To NCC doofuses.
I'm not really sure about this, but it seems that the orienteering run thing has been postponed till Saturday. Don't know whether this is true yet, but anyway since we have the Maths/English test thing on Thursday, there wouldn't be any orienteering run at Pasir Ris Park on Thursday.
By the way, you would *most likely* recieve an orienteering badge if you manage to pass the orienteering test.
At least that is for those classes taking the test on Thursday. And IMT shoot is on Friday. Teacher's Day, so unlucky for us. Not as if most of us would be able to get a marksman...apart from some people.
Like, duh.

Science Holiday Homework
Dear Sec 2D,
Please be informed that there is a chemistry holiday research assignment which will be uploaded onto the school LMS system on 02 Jun 2008.
They are two researches and you need to do ONLY ONE of them.
Please log on to the school LMS again on 16 Jun to complete a test on the respective research which you have done. This mark will count towards your CA2.
You are to submit your research to the current modular science teacher when the school reopens on 23 jun 2008. This mark will also count towards your CA2.
The class monitors and/or subject representative are responsible for informing the absentees on this holiday assignment. Disciplinary action will be taken against those who did not complete this assignment.
Reminders
Just a little reminder to anyone coming to this accursed and abandoned excuse of a class blog. Or more to the point, just to post some random stuff here to keep it...barely...alive.
Those who haven't paid up the camp fees to Surya for the June holiday camp, remember that it is $10. Camp is on 2nd to 4th of June. If you haven't passed up the camp fees, I'm not really sure how the heck do you go about passing up the camp fees, especially since its the June holidays already...although I think that everyone from 2D has passed up the fees... but still, SMS me ASAP. Surya wants a list of those that didn't...lol.
Two-star kayaking course would be held in late June, I think it is 21st June then followed by 23 and 24th of June...I'm not too sure. For those that want to change their minds and go to the danged thing, or else 2D would be the only class without anyone going to the kayaking course LOL. =) Just a reminder. And Husain, Friday has the flag party thing. That is all. Yes I am bored. Bwahahaha.

This is the End
This is it.
This is what it has become. This is the end. The end of the torture, the pain, the suffering. The start of a new beginning for the world. To start anew, refreshed, renewed. The world rejoices. The children play, the parents relax. The time has arrived. It has finally come, the time to rejoice, to play, to celebrate life anew.
For a week. We donned on our uniforms. Some were new, crispy and clean, some were old, thin yet comfortable. For a week, we sat upon our seats, edgy. Waiting for the battle to begin. For a week, we battled and waged war. Pens attacking paper. Questions assaulting the mind. For a week, we lost and won countless battles. Physically and mentally, we endured and carried on. For a week, we endured frustration, anger, nervousness and many more. For a week, we have suffered, toiled, through sweat and pain, thoughts racing in our minds. We wrote furiously.
We tried our best. We had our regrets, we had our joys, we endured our share of suffering. And we survived it all. Hardened veterans, suffering and enduring yet another battle, of wits, of pain, of the ignorance. The arrogance, the humbleness, the suffering, the pain. We endured it all. We assaulted impenetrable fortresses and strongholds, we conquered mighty castles and scaled tall walls. We were beaten before, but we held strong. Enemies had attacked us. Some won, but most lost. We remained strong throughout. We lost many in battle, but we still held on.
And now. It is time. Rejoice! For the evil had risen above us, and was beaten down! Rejoice! For we have emerged victorious in this battle of wills and wits! Rejoice! For we have reached the end of this battle. Rejoice! For this is the end for today, and be glad we have all survived. The exams are over. The time for enjoyment has begun. Video Games. Television. Sports. The battle is over, and it is time.
Rejoice.

What Should You Say In Your Letter?
What Should You Say In Your Letter?
Asking yourself a few basic questions can be an excellent way to approach letter writing. Jot down answers for your questions. You can incorporate these answers into the body of your letter. Remember to keep the letter short, simple, and to the point. Here are some questions you could ask yourself:
Who are you? (An obvious question, but you may need to identify yourself right away if the reader does not know you or does not know you well.)
Why are you writing this letter? What do you want? Keep your wording positive--for example, say what you want, rather than what you do not want.
What are your concerns? Be specific. After you identify yourself, focus on the primary reason for your letter in the first few sentences.
What are your questions? Ask them clearly. Be polite, but don't make your letter saccharine in tone. You don't want any misinterpretation of your purpose--someone might think an overly sweet letter expresses sarcasm.
How would you like the reader to respond to your question or situation? Suggest the response you would like: a letter, a meeting, a phone call, an email, etc. State exactly when you would like to receive the reader's response.
Rules to a complaint letter
Rules to a complaint letter
Got a complaint? Why not? Life’s full of them. Did your hand phone fail to provide the services you expected? Face it, at some point in life you’re going to have a complaint that needs to be put in writing. Rather than dread the inevitable, keep in mind that writing a complaint letter can be easy if you just follow five simple rules.
Rule One - Keep in mind that no matter how upset you are, don’t let your hostility spill over into your writing. To be taken seriously it is essential to keep a calm and professional tone in your letter. This means no blaming, no name calling, and definitely no foul language.
Rule Two - Use a three point approach. This approach breaks down your letter into three paragraphs with each one having a specific purpose.
Paragraph one – Introduce your self, State your purpose and you’re your letter in a positive light. Remember, the reader must be in a positive mindset in order to be able to digest and understand your needs in the letter.
Paragraph two - explains the problem. Remember, don’t blame. Everyone makes mistakes so keep this assumption in your mind as you write. Mention any important details if it helps to substantiate your claim.
Paragraph three - is the resolution. Many people have a bad habit of stopping after the second paragraph. They can easily state what they wanted and even more easily point out the flaws, but the third paragraph is critical. This is where you tell the reader exactly what you want them to do. Don’t ever assume that a complaint alone is enough. Many times it isn’t. If you want a check for refund sent, say so! If you need a replacement of poor quality merchandise, tell them!
Rule Three - Give contact information. If there are questions regarding your letter, on who should be contacted and how, List a valid phone number or email address. This should be at the end of the third paragraph.
Rule Four – Make sure your format is right. This will help bring the reader’s respect and add credibility to your writing.
Rule Five - As you close your letter thank the reader for their assistance. People respond better when they feel they are being asked and appreciated, rather than ordered.
Writing FORMAL LETTER
Instructions:
1) Spot the errors that can be found in this letter with regards to Tone.
2) What can be done to make this letter appear more diplomatic; without being offensive or overly reactive
3) Replace phrases where you feel is harsh / inappropriate
________________________________________________________________
Dear Mr Luigi,
I am returning the enclosed skateboard for a full refund. I believe it is not only a bad product, but a dangerous one. I am shocked that a company supposedly dedicated to making good products would sell such a thing. I demand not only a refund, but an explanation.
When I purchased the ‘Smokey Thunder’ skateboard, I asked the salesperson whether it was, indeed, designed to enable me to kick-flip on curbs without injuring myself. He assured me that if the parts were assembled properly, I will get the best experience out of my skateboard.
I followed the instructions exactly in assembling it and assumed that it would be safe. Instead, while cruising around my neighbourhood and going up and down slopes, the wheels suddenly gave way and I stumbled forward like a cannonball. I sprained my ankle and almost broke my neck!!! It was awful!!
This is absolutely unacceptable. Thank God my injuries are not that bad, but others may not have been so lucky. I could have been seriously injured, or worse, and it would have been your fault.
I want my money back, but more important, I want a letter from you, assuring me that this dangerous product has been taken off of the market. If I don’t hear from you, I’ll be forced to take further action to ensure that teenager like myself gets hurt or killed as a result of your negligence!!!
Sincerely,
Mi Puah Ting

Monitor's Message
Our dear monitor, Farhan, had told me to warn you on the latest update of tortures of 2D.
Maths test on Thursday. To embrace the Storm you are needed to read up Chapter 1 of your Maths Survival Book 2. A device that counts digitally would help.
Literature Homework. you are needed to send a video or presentation of a poem to the high priestess, Ms Koh, to calm the great spirit of Literature.
AEP Assault. Those who haven't offer the great spirit of AEP would be deducted 10 HP for every day.
English Compre. To understand the disaster coming up, you are needed to fill a comprehension to pg 14.

DRAMA RAMA! Just check this out!
Dear boys,
VS DramaFest will be held on 18th Apr(Fri) at the Jubilee Hall.
It is a cultural tradition since time immemorial and one that showcases
some of the brightest drama stars in VS.
We are now currently in the process of gathering and selecting
scripts from students.
IF you can't sing, paint or play an instrument, showcase your talents in writing. We are expecting the budding writers to give it a go! Before you know, your master pieces are being staged at Jubilee Hall! Bear in mind, a script writer is different from a director, you may not even be involved in acting. Just write and allow your imagination to go wild!
As each EL class is expected to submit ONE script by 31/1 (Thur). If you truly want me to submit yours for the DRAMA Committee, I hope you can write a short synopsis of the story as precursor for the ease of reading.
****Some guidelines for you****
- Duration of play (10-15min)
- Synopsis (What is it about? Characters? Where is the setting/place?)
- Structure of a Play (Beginning/Middle/End)
- Genre/themes eg, comedy, spoof, musical, school, internet, crime etc
Though this is optional a task, I still hope to see those createive juices put to work. Hope to see them scripts coming in soon by end of next week.
To our future...millers, grishams, minfongs....even Shakepeare!
Oh behalf of Mr Tan,
Thanks!
Daniel

Camp FEAST Update
This is important, all NCC Land cadets must read this. The rest of you can just ignore this post. Maybe we should create a NCC Land blog, its about time we did that...
Ok, anyway this message from Staff JC. Read and tell any other NCC Land friends you have that don't know to read this. Regarding tomorrow Camp FEAST so must read, if you haven't already recieved an SMS from Staff:
We will be going directly to Amoy Quee Camp ourselves. It makes no sense going to school at 6:00am plus and leaving before 7:00am. Link up with your peers to share a cab if your parents are not fetching you to Amoy Quee CAmp. Be at the Camp at 7:30am. This is from Staff, pass the message.
PS: From me - I think it'll always be better to arrive at the Camp a bit earlier. You know, the CLTs and stuff.

NCC Camp FEAST
Just a quick notice to everyone who will be wondering "Where the hell doofuses gone to?", NCC Land have a camp at Amoy Quee Camp on Monday and Tuesday, so we all get to pon school, so lucky... I mean so unlucky. Yess...
Anyway, this is for Tze Yang and Clive, both pon NCC for the dafty projects: You are lucky you're not screwed by Staff, so lets get to the point. Monday might have or not have bus to fetch us to the camp directly from school, so check your phone regularly. Monday wear Full SMART No.4 with Beret. If there is no bus to the camp, you are to go there by yourself, reach there by 7:30AM.
Once you're there, go all the way to block 246 or something, if lost ask the guards. Reminder: No camera phones inside the camp so don't bring. Staff is also giving out Mr. Minjun-or-whatever-you-spell-his-name-as' HP number for you to call if you get lost, which is a bit of a problem since you don't have your phone with you... ok gotta make this quick so I'll rush through the rest. Over there walk briskly and smartly or the CLTs will scream da shit outta you.
Just to let you know, we will be split with the other platoons from other schools. They WILL 'inspect' your uniform when you come in, and wear your beret when inside the camp past the main gate must wear liao. Or else the CLTs will kill you. Emphasis on KILL. Oh yes, bring your jockey cap, the other set of uniform apart from the one you wearing there, 2 sets of pratically everything wearable lar. AND BRING YOUR SHOES - Part D last time got one person never bring end up wearing boots with PE haha.
Any other stuff call me.

Random Post - ATTENTION
My Dearest Victorians,
I truly understand that money is precious as we earn 200 000 000 goondoos ($0.20) every year. We earn this small amount by doing at least a few million tao-poks and throwing rubber ducks into the Pacific Ocean. I understand that you have excellent uranium-eating priests that teach you the ways of Foogamohalogy. It is heart-warming that you have Mao Zedong descendants that spread Nosetrilism through the republic.
With my pancakes and wooden nosehair, I plead you spoilt kids to help contribute frog earwax seasoned with plutonium and Beethoven’s hair.
Yours fakely,
Tom Cruise

Change
Our educator, Ms Neo, appointed me to carry out health inspection of your blog. I am so priviledged to do appointed! (Sniff!) These are the main thing I would be inspecting along your little blogs:
->Use of Language. No 'fishes', 'female dog offspring', 'bus service 3'...
->The font size and colour scheme. Suitable of the two light detectors located on the top of your cheeks.
->Availability to comment. Very important for you to get 50% of your CA1 EL.
->Obscence stuff. No red coloured liquid and stuff with it. I hate this objective who are we to say?
->Adult stuff. OK, this is damn obvious rite?
Here are the blog not suitable to these criteria:
Fareez - Comment plz!
Hanmo - Larger fonts plz. Beautiful blog except the bloodshot eyes have to go for now.
Ian Yang - COMMENT!!! Nice though.
Jiefu - Larger fonts. U like locking our eyes.
Others get a better color scheme via Layout and then Fonts and Colour. Don't think I never say you never do. I am not going to tell you that your diapers is full of crap before it explodes.
Guide for Noobs:
- Get cbox via Cbox
- Music at Imeem or Esnips.
-Mail me at mohdizak07@hotmail.com for guides and requests.
Commonwealth Essay Competition
Please submit your entry by next Monday.
You have the weekend to complete it.
DO some brainstorm and research. Post it with the title in this attempt, indicating it is for Commonwealth Essay. Please do not confuse this with your 3 separate CA posts.

CA 1 Assignment
Dear boys of 2D
This blogging adventure should be taking off by now. I hope to see real engagement with writing and more conscientious effort in using proper grammatical sentences, punctuation and spellings which are acceptable in this perfect English blog. Any language teacher can identify with me that it is a joy to see you learn and improve your expressions. Through the process of reading others' blog and writing comments, you will learn to be more critical a reader and writer. Knowing that you are publishing for a specific audience, you would be spending some time editing before publishing a piece of work, with pride.
Well, ironically, I have to emphasize that although this adventure will ultimately faciliate your language learning experience, I will be using it to assess your mastery of this genre - BLOG - as well as your linguistics spontaneity. Also, let me remind all that this CA assignment is primarily a NARRATIVE and not a random, mindless rattling of your personal emotions ( although Blog does have this element).
Hence, in your attempt to be spontaneous, please remember to align your story to :
1 Vivid characters and settings
2 Engaging plot; with a genuine(or realistic) complication
3 Sequential rising actions which lead appropriately to a climax
4 Well thought-through resolution (complimentary to the introduction)
Have said that, as you read others' narrative entry, do use these elements as a guide to make your comments on your friend's blog ( comment on the register no after you, eg, Reg 18 will post a comment on Reg 19).
FInally, please complete all the 3 entries latest by Sunday! INDICATE tasks clearly (CA 1 ENTRY 1 2 or 3 with its respective theme; eg. CA 1 Blog 1 - A moment I enjoyed). By 21st Jan, I will comment and give a score to each. This CA task.
Keep your posts coming. I welcome your feedback in my teaching and facilitation in your learning journey of the English Language.

Welcome to Class Blog
Hello, fellow classmates. Welcome to the class blog of 2D (Officially). Nothing much to say but have fun in creating your blogs.
I am not going to type the same thing Mr Ron Tan typed on his class blog. Just enjoy yourselves and do keep your blogs after the assignment.
Don't forget to type in proper English, not forgetting your punctuations and spellings. Yeah, it is like writing or more specific typing an essay.
Have fun and the things along with it.
